Dance Training and Improvement?
I am 14. I love dance. I am not able to make it proffesional but it is something I love to death. I am moving to california for acting and singing oppurtunities, but my parents are having trouble paying for dance classes on top of all their other expenses. I might only be able to take two classes for a week. I danced for 2 years, stopped and now i am getting back into it. How can i improve as a dancer dramatically over the course of a few months if i want to get better before i move?
also what excersises, things, will help my dancing overall? Is yoga, running, pilates, benificial for my dancing? Anything benificial to my dancing please tell me! I want to improve alot since i have to start all over a a beginner now! Thank you!
Make sure you are taking ballet classes.That is what will make you better and stronger in any other dance style you dance. 2 ballet classes a week isn’t very much at all. If you could do yoga or pilates classes, you would be better off using the money for an extra ballet class instead. Nothing gets you stronger as a dancer then more ballet classes. Don’t run, it will ruin your turnout. You can stretch at home, but practicing dance at home isn’t a great idea without corrections and a proper dance floor.
